Stay:

Set in the wilds of mid Wales in the middle of an RSPB nature reserve near Snowdonia National Park, the coast and the village of Eglwys Fach in Powys, Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms, takes a bit of getting to but is well worth the journey. There are just ten rooms, six in the main house and the others in a garden annex, all comfortable and contemporary but with a traditional feel.

Eat:

Although the surrounding countryside is spectacular the main reason for visiting Ynyshir is the restuarant – one of just six Michelin Star restaurants in Wales, Ynyshir also holds the rare accolade of Five AA Rosettes.  The restaurant serves a set menu of twenty courses which changes constantly with the seasons using the best seasonal ingredients and the open kitchen allows you to see the chefs at work who also then serve each dish and explain how it was created.
