Once part of the Atholl Estate and dating back 350 years, East Haugh House just outside Pitlochry in Pershire was converted into a hotel in 1989 by the McGown family. Since then it’s scooped up a variety of awards for both its food and accommodation including Scotland’s Hotel of the Year in both 2018 and 2019. There are twelve individually designed bedrooms, including a deluxe four-poster room with Jacuzzi bath, the Red Drummond Suite with a conjoined movie room, and a deluxe superior room with its own open fireplace. There is also a Victorian private gate lodge within the grounds of the hotel which can be taken on a self-catering or dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Award-winning Chef Patron, Neil McGown, runs a kitchen that concentrates on using locally sourced ingredients featuring the likes of seafood from the Western Isles and, when in season, local game. There’s an extensive a la Carte menu along with an ever-changing daily specials menu.
